Amethyst in reticulated, recycled silver twig ring This lovely little ring is part of my "twig" series, rings formed with flame and skill to create an organic form. Each of these rings is handformed by myself and each is unique.
The irregular surface structure is created through a process called reticulation, where the surface of the metal is bought to melting point again and again. The rings are made to stack together as well, providing myriad options to create a miniature landscape on your finger. Amethyst is the birth stone for February
The ring is 2mm round silver wire which has has silver granultion fused to its surface. The amethyst is 2mm wide and sparklier than the photo shows. It is a Europen 18 (58mm finger circumference) and can be sized up or down two sizes. In the last picture you see it with it's perfectly paired partner ring, a violet topaz.
