Tourmilinated quartz, rultilated quartz, recycled silver, big, round stone, fine silver This is an eyecatcher! I've set the stone simply in fine silver as I thought it needed no distractions. The photos don't show the shimmers of rainbow colours that shoot through some inclusions in the stone, contrasting unexpectedly with the the black tourmilinations. On the back of the setting I've created a sawn texture which reflects the tourmilinations in the stone. The whole piece has been given a gentle oxidisation to really make the stone stand out. Sits very comfortably on the finger. The band is 4mm wide and the stone has a glorious 19mm diameter. The ring is a European 15 (55mm finger circumference), U.S. 7 1/4 and a U.K. O 1/2 Comes in an elegant matt white presentation box, all ready to be given as a thoughtful, cherished gift. All my metal is from a company which is a member of the Responsible Jewelry Council. They deal only in recycled silver and gold. They smelt their metals to the highest environmental standards, to cause the least impact on the environment. They do not deal with newly mined metals, as these metals cause much greater destruction to the environment. There is no visible difference between recycled metals and newly-mined metals.
