smoky quartz, pear shaped, brown, sterling silver, Roman ring This ring is part of a series of pieces inspired by Roman finds here where I live in the Rheinland. I'm pretty sure any Roman matron would have been thrilled with this deep, warm brown, very sparkly pear cut smoky quartz. The band has been forged so that it flares out at the base and ends in scrolls that support the stone. The stone sits quite high on the finger and is an absolute eye catcher. I have some more of these stones. If you would like a piece made in your size, earrings or a pendant, just get in touch. The ring is a European 19 (59mm finger circumference), a US 8 3/4 and a UK R. The stone is 13mm x 9mm while the total length of the top of the ring is 23.5mm. The band is 2mm thick. It comes packaged in a matt white environmentally friendly presentation box, ready to be given and received with love. All my metal is from a company which is a member of the Responsible Jewelry Council. They deal only in recycled silver and gold. They smelt their metals to the highest environmental standards, to cause the least impact on the environment. They do not deal with newly mined metals, as these metals cause much greater destruction to the environment.
