Sand cast, recycled silver ring Casting into sand is an ancient technique. The model, in this case a a wax form I had made, is pressed into the sand then removed and the silver is cast into the negative space. A really effective way to recycle old jewellery into something new. This ring has had all the sand texture filed off one side while the other side is left with the raw texture of the sand. Great contrast. The ring is solid and sits comfortably on the finger. This ring can be sized up a bit or I can make one in your size, just bear in mind no two will ever be the same. Get in touch and let me know your size. Ring size US 5 3/4 All of my silver and gold comes from a smelter who is externaly certified as only working with recycled metal. They smelt their metals to the highest environmental standards, to cause the least impact on the environment. They do not deal with newly mined metals, as these metals cause much greater destruction to the environment. There is no visible difference between recycled metals and newly-mined metals. There is also no difference as far as the karat of the metals go- 18k recycled gold is exactly the same in constitution as 18k newly mined gold.
