Roman inspired, rainbow moonstone, recycled sterling silver, fine silver, ring Another of my Roman rings, inspired by finds here in the Rheinland. The stone is a rainbow moonstone, opaque white with flashes of blue and purple. The last photo shows a shimmer of the colours but still doesn't do it justice. The stone is 9mm wide and set in fine silver. I have forged the band from 3mm wire. At it's thickest point it is still 3mm thick and goes down to 1mm thick at the spirals. The stone sits 13mm high above the finger, a really gorgeous statement ring. The ring is a European 15 (55mm finger circumference), a US 7 1/4 and a UK O1/2 Comes in a matt white presentation box, all ready to be given as a thoughtful, cherished gift. All of my silver and gold comes from a smelter who is externaly certified as only working with recycled metal. They smelt their metals to the highest environmental standards, to cause the least impact on the environment. They do not deal with newly mined metals, as these metals cause much greater destruction to the environment. There is no visible difference between recycled metals and newly-mined metals. There is also no difference as far as the karat of the metals go- 18k recycled gold is exactly the same in constitution as 18k newly mined gold.
